I've been employed as a Senior Android Engineer at ClearScore since January 2021. I have driven numerous tech initiatives, such as migrating the Design Components to Jetpack Compose as well as building the Home screen using Jetpack Compose (initially, hidden behind a feature flag) while the framework was in alpha. ClearScore's vision is to help everyone, no matter what their circumstances, achieve greater financial well-being. ClearScore started this journey by giving everybody access to their credit score and report for free, forever.
D Notes is my personal app for recording rich notes that I'm developing on an ongoing basis, since January 2017. D Notes has over 500K installs and 17k reviews at 4.6 ⭐️ on the Google PlayStore.
I developed many key features on the Takealot.com Android app, such as the screens for Daily Deals, Wishlist, and Home, from June 2019 to January 2021. Takealot.com’s mission is to be the most customer-centric online shopping destination in Africa, and has built a foundation on the simple concept that the customer comes first.
I was employed at Redstor from January 2018 to May 2019 where I developed a native Android and iOS app to enable end-users to access and manage their data remotely. Redstor provides a smart cloud backup solution, delivering the broadest coverage of data sources from a single app and lightning-quick recovery of any files on demand.
I obtained a BSc in Computer Science (cum laude) from UNISA (University of South Africa) in 2017. I code in Kotlin (and Java, when I have to) on a daily basis and strive to keep up to date with latest Android libraries and best practices. I'm also capable of building services in Node.js.
